About Us

The  Posey County Solid Waste District is a local government agency charged with reducing the amount of waste going into Indiana landfills.

The Posey County Solid Waste District operates 4 recycling centers, the Mt. Vernon curbside program, a, a household hazardous waste facility and a teachers’ reuse facility.

Recycling centers are located in Mt. Vernon, Poseyville, New Harmony, and Marrs Township.

Mount Vernon Recycling Center

1010-1098 Lower New Harmony rd, Mt Vernon, IN 47620
Open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2pm until 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 12 noon.

Poseyville Recycling Center

207 S. St. Francis Ave. Poseyville, IN 47633

Saturdays 8:00am - 12:00pm

New Harmony Recycling Center

Open Wednesdays 2:00pm - 6:00pm
